Solid timber, mounted to float.
The Mill Floating Bench is a single length of solid white cedar, wall-mounted on concealed steel so it appears to float clear of the floor. It reads as one bold horizontal line — a seat, a landing spot by the door, a plinth for the things you love. The heavy timber and the weightless mounting are a deliberate contradiction. Available in eight- and six-foot lengths.
White cedar is a solid, natural softwood, so every board is different — expect knots, grain variation and fine surface checks (small cracks that open as the timber settles). These are inherent to the material, not defects, and they give each piece its own character. Being a softer wood, white cedar also takes on the gentle marks of daily life and patinas beautifully, growing warmer and more characterful with every year of use. Ships with concealed steel mounting hardware. It must be fixed into solid structure (studs or masonry); an installation guide is included, and we can recommend an installer.
